We are Colegio Los Angeles!

Colegio Los Ángeles is an institution that links a formative proposal in which we intend to engage parents, teachers and students in the pursuit of excellence. Aware of the need of today’s world, to find tools that contribute to a comprehensive education of our children and youth, we have developed a curriculum program in which the attributes or values as a pillar of training, in a permanent task of building a life project and promote learning in the midst of proper coexistence and understanding that other people in their difference can be right, expanding their worldview and developing skills that transcend the communicative and facilitate intercultural understanding.

We are an educational institution in Colombia committed to achieving a better environment and building a peaceful society, educating children and young people through a comprehensive, demanding education, with rigorous evaluation methods and a team of highly qualified professionals. We graduate human beings with solidarity, informed, eager for knowledge, competent, leaders and with deep respect for the environment, interculturality and difference.

In the year 2026, Colegio Los Ángeles de Tunja will be recognized nationally and internationally as an educational institution committed to building a better world and a peaceful society, providing an education based on the philosophy of the integrity of the person, environmental conservation and research, with the ability to adjust its processes to global changes and compliance with international standards.

Our History

Our History

In 1978, a united family with a vocation focused on the educational sector, dreamed and conceived the idea of founding a school in the city of Tunja, to form with affective, moral, ethical, cognitive and cultural bases that would allow students to contribute as citizens forgers and builders of a better world.

Since its founding in 1978, education for Colegio Los Angeles, is an instrument of being, which makes it possible to realize integrally, providing the environment that allows the incorporation of the identity and attributes of the Angelist profile in our students, enabling the construction of autonomy, awareness and self-determination, concepts that in the institution and for the Colegio Los Angeles community revolves around an education that builds and liberates.

The institutional horizon opens the door to the clear definition of the Strategic Direction, whose purpose is to ensure quality in each of the processes and services offered by the school. Thus, the Angelista Institutional Philosophy is incorporated, framed by an Educational Policy of Leadership and Quality, by the principles and values that identify us. The Angelista Pedagogical Model, created under a new concept based on the intersection of several trends, has allowed us to achieve excellent results evidenced by the trajectory and personal and professional fulfillment of our graduates. Traditionally, Colegio Los Angeles is positioned within the top 15 in the country, reaching up to third and fifth place and maintaining since 2009 in first place in Boyaca and Tunja, according to the results in Icfes Saber tests. Colegio Los Angeles maintains within its processes, quality management, supported by nationally and internationally recognized accreditation models, the curriculum plan allows a permanent update projected towards change, with directions to new knowledge and tools that the student is responsible for reflecting in the environment in which it develops, understanding that comprehensive education today requires working alongside new technologies (TICS), innovation, values and the projection of students to a promising future. The development of socioemotional skills (soft) and community aspects allows opening a space for the social projection of our Institution towards the community, exercising the purpose of the Angelista motto: “Leaders in the integral formation of Children and Youth”, because educating is not only transmitting knowledge, it is teaching to manage it for the benefit of a society, it is being a living source of humanity and values, it is being a promoter of social change, it is having the ability to face challenges in order to always be the best and feel satisfied for a job well done. Within the Purpose, vision and strategy, along with the institutional horizon, the value proposition is established, which articulates the Angelista pedagogical model with the programs offered, the competitive advantages that make Colegio Los Ángeles different and unique. The Value Proposition guides the fulfillment of the commitments outlined with the integral formation of the Angelista children and young people and is recognized graphically as follows: What does the value proposition consist of?
  • Bilingual Education. 100% bilingual preschool, foreign language subjects, English intensification, areas such as speaking, reading, incorporation of French, application of mocks and proficiency tests in 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 10th grades, presentation of the IELTS test in 11th grade, graduation of students as national bilingual academic high school graduates through an international exam, in which they must reach levels B1- B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
  • International Baccalaureate. Colegio Los Angeles is authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization to deliver the Diploma Program for students in grades 10-11, with a careful prioritization of subjects in higher and standard level, articulation of the international curriculum with the national curriculum from lower grades, application of mocks, internal evaluations, external evaluations, international tests, monograph and CAS.
  • High level academic results. Excellent results in Saber 11° Tests, positioning the institution in the first place in Tunja, Boyacá and in the first places in the country. Recognition for the results of graduates in universities, external academic and cultural events. Research. Incorporation of the subject Research from the first grades, development of research projects advised by teachers, articulation with monograph processes.
  • Integral education based on values. Cultivation of values through the constant appropriation of the institutional horizon and the Angelista pedagogical model from the first grades, attributes of the international baccalaureate, development of soft skills, mental health program, permanent follow-up and accompaniment, support strategies, inclusion and homogeneous improvement.
  • Quality management system. Application of the international EFQM model in all areas and processes that make up the institution. Continuous improvement. Colegio Los Ángeles is currently certified at the R4E level (Recognised for Excellence – 4 Stars).
